On February 21, 2009 El Capitan participated in the Grossmont Union High School District Theatre Competition. El Capitan won the overall competition and recieved the following awards:

BEST MUSICAL: "The Boys" from Big River:

Jake Young, Rose Cannon, Josh Hutchins, Jonathan Fishman, Analise Vargas, Taylor Cate, Marissa Drammissi, Cassie Jungers, Anthony Fisher, Harold Wise

BEST Monologue:

Jonathan Fishman

BEST Original Work: "Brotherly Love" written by Anthony Fisher and Harold Wise

Anthony Fisher, Harold Wise, Analise Vargas

BEST Multi-Person comedy: "The Line"

Jake Young, Josh Hutchins, Marissa Drammissi, Anthony Fisher, Harold Wise

Best Actor from El Capitan:

Recycle Old Cell Phones and Ink Cartridges

cell phoneHelp earn money for our new Theater by donating your old phones and ink cartridges to be recycled. We earn $2-$4 for old phones and up to $27 for new phones. Large laser cartridges are accepted. Drop off phones or ink cartridges at the El Capitan front desk. Contact Deana Davison at (619)938-9238 if you have questions.
